Overdriven cassette tape effects. Compression, distortion- saturation. Six unique effects. 3 of them used additional processing and hardware to add to the tape effect. 3 of them were sampled in stereo.
All 6 were sampled and are presented as ‘compressor style’ programs, with thresh, attack, and release controls. To give the effects more versatility, additional attack/release behaviors were taken from actual compressors and melded with these effects.

The additional attack/release times allow these programs to be used like compressor programs to some degree, but they also allow you to shape the saturation/distortion effect. It’s like a hybrid of a saturated tape sound with compressor controls, and the tape is cassette so there is definitely a lo-fi sound.
These effects provide a range of unique sounds that could be a very useful addition to your arsenal, but you have to accept that there are flaws, because of the extreme nature of the sampled setups (in some cases I think the flaws actually lead to interesting new sounds). They usually do work well, and with some tweaking you can usually get a good result. These are for people who like to experiment and are willing to tweak and fine tune the controls, and put in some effort to get a good result.

Audio demos:

This is a mix, with two sub-mixes which are processed separately. One has all the drums, the other has the 2 synths. First you hear the whole mix dry, then it goes through different combinations of programs/settings being used.

Female vocal. First dry, then it goes through each effect in the set, in the order that they are listed in the manual. A static burst between program changes, because #4 is used twice (to show how two completely different results can come from that program, true with all of them).
